My mom filed for my daughters child support without my permission can she do that?

My mom just recently told me she went and filed for my daughters child support. She didn't ever tell me she was gonna do this but claims she did. Me and my daughters dad have an unspoken agreement but has never let me down he provides clothes pampers whips foods and co pay for the drs but me and my daughter do not live with him we live with my mom and we are under her insurance but he still provides for her. And now she's telling me she's going to get the child support check. Can she do that?
