Sony NEX - Good Buy or a No-go?

I stumbled upon the Sony NEX camera. I'm not a sony kinda girl when it comes to my handheld memory capture-ers. But, it seems like a great buy. Im looking forward 2 purchasing an SLR. but, I'm going on vacation to europe, so a big SLR wouldn't be adequate because its an educational trip. It has the interchangeable lens feature which is great, but I'm aware of the expensive lens :( But if its worth it, the money will be spent. So, should I get it? Or spend my money elsewhere?
