Whats the difference about camera lens?...best lens for SOny Nex-3?

i just bought a Sony Nex-3....i know you can put adapters to put other lens on....now..what is the difference between lens...and what is the a real nice and good one, not pricey for the Nex-3, i love taking black and white pics but also pics that wud bring out the beautiful colors....
