Would a stereo mic in a handheld camera hold up against a drum kit?

Hey I am wanting to record some songs on my drums for youtube, as everyone knows, drums are LOUD. Most cameras can't keep up with the noise and it sounds shocking when played back. I was thinking of buying a Sony NEX-3 with a Sony ECMSST1 Stereo Microphone but I'm not a camera buff so I'd like some guidence, my limit would be about �300-�400 ($350-500) so any help would be awesome! thanks
